Grammarsaurus Curriculum at Clare Community Primary School

At Clare Community Primary School, we use the Grammarsaurus Curriculum as the foundation for delivering a broad, balanced and engaging education. The curriculum is carefully designed to promote meaningful cross-curricular links, enabling children to make connections between different areas of learning and deepen their understanding of the world around them.

Our thematic approach places learning within a clear context, allowing subjects to be taught through exciting and purposeful themes. By linking learning across subjects such as English,  science, history, geography, art, and design technology, children are able to build upon prior knowledge and see how skills and concepts are interconnected. This helps learning become more memorable, relevant and engaging.

The Grammarsaurus Curriculum supports our commitment to developing both knowledge and skills. Each theme is thoughtfully sequenced to ensure progression across year groups whilst maintaining high expectations for all pupils. Through rich texts, purposeful outcomes and carefully planned learning experiences, children are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively and apply their learning in a variety of contexts.

A cross-curricular approach also provides opportunities for children to revisit and reinforce key concepts. For example, historical themes may inspire high-quality writing, while scientific enquiries can strengthen mathematical reasoning and data handling skills.
